Chris and Colleen accepted offer of train ticket and lodging w/librarian

Lizette/scholastic – will send invitations to people, raina telgemeir, missile mouse guy. Might be some people we only get for the afternoon. Interested in having book signings – book sales.

B&N for book sales, maybe Ruth Ann or Liftbridge? B&N wants it to be worth their while – conference may not make them enough money. Adrienne will look into book sellers, once we know how many authors we'll have. If it's only 4 or 5 authors, maybe we should work with Ruth Ann.

Shoot for the middle to end of August to have programming wrapped up, so we can start promoting in earnest.

Xandi wants to do promotion – getting the word out to colleges, school districts. Not necessarily creating publicity, graphics department might be able to come up with something?

Xandi had offer from someone at sjf for them to host it there. They also offered to help get grant money. Conference definitely has to be at Central, but they still may want to support/sponsor the event.

Getting an in with teachers/schools – this is an area we need to work on. Be thinking about possible contacts. We need to gauge interest in attendance, ask if they would be willing to promote it. Be careful about involving people who might have their own agendas – be cautious about inviting active involvement. Need to be able to tell people the registration fees – see document on kcc website.

• Jason wants to strengthen contact with school librarians, he's interested in seeing if there's someone out there to serve in some kind of advisory capacity. Xandi also has a school librarian contact – Howard Ennis from Brockport. Asking him to to tell us what we need to do to ensure that we'll get attendance from school librarians, enlist him as ambassador. Xandi will contact him. What will make it easy for teachers and librarians to attend this event? We should invite him to one of our July meetings.

Faculty member from Naz who interested in being a panelist – audrielle, she's an education faculty member. Xandi will re-send Jason her contact information.

Woman from Buffalo – doing a swap with her. Miranda will check in with Tonia about the woman's name and her involvement with comics.

Xandi reminded Jason the need to delegate! Stephanie would mention things that needed to be done, ask who wanted to pick up that task.
